First up you need to know that software developer Michael Sablin released several Drunken Clock Screensaver versions out there. In this article we will focus on the Light version of Drunken Clock. It is called Light because it comes with only 4 skins, skins that you can use to change the way the clock looks. The developer says there are 5 skins included by default. I counted and there are only 4.

It must be mentioned here that after you’re done installing Drunken Clock Screensaver on your Windows-powered PC, you are asked to download additional skins for the screensaver. You are presented with a list of skins -> select the ones you want -> let Drunken Clock Screensaver download them. You can also download new skins from the screensaver’s settings pane or by visiting cool-screensavers.com.

Drunken Clock Screensaver, as its name so adequately points out, is a screensaver. It kicks in when your computer goes idle, and when it kicks in it displays an analog clock wobbling around on your desktop. In the foreground you see the wobbling clock; in the background you see clouds, or a forest, or some other scenery – it all depends on the skin you selected.

From the screensaver’s settings pane you can choose one of three languages (English, French, and Russian), select a sound effect, select the clock’s wobbling and movement style, select the background’s movement style, adjust the screensaver’ speed, choose a new skin or download a new skin.

In the registered version you can also add a custom message that will be displayed as a scrolling text at the bottom. In the unregistered version you cannot add such a custom message; you see a registration reminder instead.

Before you go get Drunken Clock Screensaver and put it to the test, there are some technical details you need to know about. The following technical details:
Download – the download weighs in at 1.7MB, which means the download will complete in a blink, even if you have to contend with a lousy internet connection.
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, Drunken Clock Screensaver provides support for Windows 95, 98, 2000, and XP.
Limitations – the screensaver is not freeware, it is only free to try. The trial version is not time-limited, so you can use it for as long as you want. A registration reminder is displays as scrolling text at the bottom of the screen.
